Holmfirth Photo Social presentsContemporary Images of the Holme Valley

A collective exploration of the Holme Valley as it exists today.

Contributors have been asked to look beyond postcard views and respond to the valley through approaches ranging from careful observation to more experimental processes – allowing space to try things out and see where they lead – tracing the landforms, habitats, waterways and architecture that define this place.

The exhibition reflects on the landscape as something shaped by use, weather and time, bringing together a range of responses to the Holme Valley in the present day.

To support this year’s Holmfirth Artweek, you are invited to put forward up to three images for consideration as part of the exhibition.

Work will be reviewed and discussed and curated collectively, with images chosen on the basis of artistic quality, originality and relevance to the theme.

Selected photographs will be professionally printed by Fresh Aire in Leeds – Giclée print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag – and mounted on 5mm Foamex with hanging plates and foam bumpers at a cost of approximately £40 per image. Final pricing will be confirmed nearer the time. Payment will be due in advance of printing.

Sales and printing agreement

All exhibited prints will be offered for sale during Artweek at a fixed price of £100 per print.

  • 20% of each sale will go to Artweek.
  • The remaining 80% will be paid to the exhibiting photographer.
